In the teaser video for season 6, 1000 pound sistersPosted Entertainment Tonight‘S youtube On Tuesday, September 10, Tammy, 38, was spotted visiting her doctor to discuss having excess skin removed.
Tammy’s sister Amy Slayton-HoltermanTammy, 36, said she feels “comfortable” with her body after losing about 200 pounds following bariatric surgery in 2019, but doesn’t feel the same way about the 500 pounds she lost.
“Amy is slimmer and feels good about her body, but I don’t feel that way because I have too much skin,” Tammy is seen telling the camera in the clip.

Tammy looked visibly worried after hearing the doctor’s verdict, telling the cameras, “I’m scared I won’t be approved for skin removal surgery.”

Tammy’s incredible weight loss is often documented on social media. The star recently shared an Instagram video of herself on August 27, commenting on her frequent updates. “I take a lot of pictures, a lot of selfies, [take the photos] “Because I think I’m handsome. Well, a little bit. But mostly because I want to remember how big I was and what I looked like,” Slayton says in the clip. “And I’m like, ‘Dude, I’m so big.’ I lost 500 pounds, and I couldn’t sit in this chair.”
Looking back further on her weight loss journey, she recalled, “I was so focused on losing weight that I lost myself.”
Tammy added: “I lost myself and turned to alcohol instead of food. At the same time, I was still eating. I was doing both. It was damaging in two different ways. It would be so easy to fall back into bad habits and gain all the weight back. So what was all this for? Wasted time. Wasted money. Wasted effort. Wasted.”
The TLC series chronicled how Tammy and Amy’s respective physical transformations affected their health and personal lives.
