3-0 loss & red card drama

Bruno Fernandes red card overturned: Manchester United’s relief and regret

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes is back! The club’s appeal was successful after he was sent off against Tottenham on Sunday. A red card was shown in the 42nd minute and Fernandes’ tackle on James Maddison was initially labeled as serious foul play. He was handed a potential three-match ban, but United insisted the decision was wrong and ended up winning. Fernandes is now available for United’s games against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham.

The dismissal came when Tottenham were 1-0 up, and United struggled afterwards to lose 3-0. Fernandes insisted it was just a foul and not a play that warranted a red card. “The referee said I had him at studs. That can never happen. It was my ankle,” he told BBC Match of the Day.

This appeal victory clearly leaves Ten Hag feeling both relieved and frustrated. Losing to Tottenham was tough, but the result might have been different if Fernandes had stayed on the pitch.

Tottenham beat United 3-0 🌟

Despite a bright start, Manchester United were defeated 3-0 by Tottenham. United struggled after Fernandes was sent off, with Ten Hag’s side holding off a relentless Spurs attack. Tottenham’s lead was doubled just after half-time, leaving United with no chance of recovery.

Benni McCarthy’s views on Ten Hag and training issues

Former coach Benni McCarthy has weighed in on United’s situation, questioning Ten Hag’s style and player commitment. While he praised the intensive training of Fernandes and Dalo, he felt the same drive was lacking in other players, limiting United’s progress.

Upcoming match schedule and outlook
United’s next challenge is to play against Porto in the Europa League before returning to the Premier League to face Aston Villa. With Fernandez returning, there is an opportunity to turn the situation around.
