Here it is. For a very early date, I wanted to dress casually and be a little reserved? Everything felt new and scary to me. Since then, though, I’ve taken that advice seriously. After dating handsome gentlemen and seeing how kind and open people are (especially at this age), I’ve found myself warming up and softening to the idea of being more vulnerable. So I’ve become a little more brave about how I dress to show that I care and put in effort. (Does that make sense? It makes sense in my head.)

Fashion can sometimes feel frivolous and useless, but don’t you think that at other times it really reflects our emotional temperature, our mental space, our stage of life? It reminds me of an interview I had with the costume designer for Girls and Fleabag, and how the characters’ clothes can show what they’re thinking and feeling. Not always, but sometimes! Claire!
