5 Liverpool loan players who could get a chance in Arne slot – Liverpool FC

With a new manager comes new opportunities for Liverpool’s young loan players to make an impact in the pre-season first team.

Jurgen Klopp was a coach who gave young players the chance to shine in the first team, but not all players made the cut and some were sent out on loan to gain more experience.

But the arrival of manager Arne Slot could mean new opportunities for those who have been away from Merseyside over the past few months.

The Dutchman could potentially rely on players who have impressed on loan as he potentially needs new players in key positions such as left-back and goalkeeper.

Here are five Liverpool loan players who could get their chance in the slot:

Fabio Carvalho

After a dismal first half at RB Leipzig, where he made just three starts and spent 360 minutes on the pitch, Carvalho returned to Liverpool and went on loan to the Championship.

In the second tier, he joined Tyler Morton in Liam Rosenior’s Hull City side as they were pushing for the play-offs.

The Tigers were eventually eliminated and the manager controversially lost his job, but it was a successful few months for the Portuguese personally.

The majority of his appearances for Hull came as a false nine, with Carvalho scoring nine goals in 20 appearances for the Tigers before returning to impress in the slot.

Morton has made a huge impact for Blackburn in the 2022/23 season and has quickly won the hearts of Hull fans this campaign.

His power and composure on the ball and ability to read the play made him a stalwart in the Hull side that finished seventh in the Championship.

The 21-year-old has clearly grown in height and confidence throughout the campaign, and the combative midfielder will be hoping to feature in Slot’s squad next season as well.

One gets the feeling that one loan move could be the limit before he either joins the first team or leaves permanently.

This season has been the best season of Owen Beck’s professional career to date. He became a fan favorite at Dundee and even made a brief appearance in the Premier League in Liverpool’s 4-0 win at Bournemouth.

After a disappointing 2022/23 season that saw failed loan spells at Famalicao and Bolton, Ian Rush’s nephew has performed brilliantly as an attacking left-back, ensuring he did not waste his opportunity in Scotland.

He briefly returned to Merseyside when he made the aforementioned appearance under Klopp in January, but an agreement was quickly reached to send him back to Dundee.

Beck got that impression from north of the border. voted The players were named in the PFA Scottish Premiership Team of the Year.

Another left-back on this list, Luke Chambers, spent the first half of the season bouncing between the first team and the Under-21s before moving to Wigan in January.

With his wicked left-footed delivery, Chambers has long been considered a big prospect through the academy and made his debut against Leicester in the League Cup.

He then played three more games, including two starts in the Europa League, before moving to Wigan, led by Sean Mulroney.

The 19-year-old has made 18 appearances in Ligue 1 and his manager said: “To put it simply, we signed him in January and he has made our starting XI better.”

Viteslav Jaros

Vitezslav Jaros’ move to Sturm Graz in January was an undoubted success. He ended Red Bull Salzburg’s domestic dominance by winning the Austrian Double.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is understandably yet to feature for Liverpool, with Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian ahead of him, but that could change this summer.

Having played all but one game since arriving in Austria, Liverpool and their new-look goalkeeping department will absolutely have to take a serious look at Jaros should either Kelleher or Adrian depart.
