It may sound cliche, but once September rolls around, I can’t wait to start making soup. Sure, it’s not *that* cold yet, but there’s something about each bowl I make that brings back memories of the season. (And on warm days, there’s always gazpacho, right?)

I have a list of fall soup recipes that I rely on, but I always like to freshen things up. (After the year that has come, I felt like it needed a refresh!) So I’ve been trawling the internet to add a few more this season, and today I’m sharing my winning options with you. So for all things comforting and hearty, let’s get started!

Here are some warm and delicious fall soup recipes.

1. Easy French Onion Soup

This old but good soup always sounds like a good choice. For this recipe, there are two *secret* extra ingredients that are just right underneath the frothy layer of melted cheese (I love that). Click the link below to see what I’m talking about!

2. Creamy Roasted Cauliflower and Mushroom Soup

It was later in my life that I discovered my love for mushrooms (and I’m so glad I did!). This vegan gluten-free soup is one of those reasons because of its creamy texture and nutritious ingredients. It’s safe to say that I’ll be making this dish the first day of cold weather.

3. Soba soup with shrimp and vegetables

Speaking of things I later came to like, soba noodles were also on the list. I love the sucking properties of soba noodles, especially when floating in a flavorful, savory broth. I’m sure this is the perfect antidote for the cold season coming up!

4. Chicken Lemon Herb Dumpling Soup

My grandmother used to make a variation of this recipe when we visited her in the winter. In fact, just looking at this recipe brings back the familiar herbal flavors. I love this recipe because of its flexibility (you can adjust it based on what you have on hand) and budget-friendly ingredient list. So it’s a win-win in my book!

5. Three Bean Chili

Soup season is nothing without a little chili! With a little help from my favorite cheese celery (their cheese is so rich and delicious), you have the ultimate comfort food to kick off the new season (and maybe watch a game or two!).

6. Orzo, Chickpea, and Turmeric-Ginger Juice

I’m always looking for recipes that I can use my favorite plant-based protein source, chickpeas. When I saw this recipe with my favorite spices, ginger and turmeric, I knew it had to be on my list!

7. Seafood Chowder

Seafood lovers, rejoice! This ensemble of homemade broth is the perfect transitional soup from summer to fall.

8. Instant Pot Sweet Potato Tortilla Soup

Finally, here’s a colorful and refreshing vegan recipe! Loaded with sweet potatoes, roasted tomatoes, and corn, it’s filling and fiber-packed. And the best part is, it’s made in minutes thanks to that holy grail kitchen gadget, the Instant Pot! (Psst! Don’t have an Instant Pot? Don’t worry, you can make this on the stovetop, too!)
