During his time in the NFL, superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers never exactly saw eye to eye with many of the coaches he played for, even Mike McCarthy, with whom he won a Super Bowl title while playing for the Green Bay Packers.

It didn’t take long for Rodgers to meet with the other manager he was playing for, having been fired a few weeks ago when the New York Jets parted ways with Robert Saleh, and it became clear he wasn’t the right man for the job.

With the team parting ways with Saleh, Jeff Ulbrich was named interim head coach and has the enormous task of trying to right the ship in New York, which has not gone well thus far.

The Jets now sit at 3-7 heading into their Week 11 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, and questions are starting to pop up about what will happen after this season, such as whether Ulbrich should be seriously considered for the job.

Rodgers was recently asked about Ulbrich and appears to have given his interim head coach a vote of confidence, going so far as to say he would like to play for him until the end of his storied career in the NFL, via Jets Videos.

“I think, ‘Brich is an NFL coach, whether he goes forward or down. He is the leader of men and I will stand by his side. I want to play for him until the end,” Rodgers said.

With so many high-profile coaches likely to be available during the NFL offseason, and with Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel at the top of the list, the Jets brass will probably opt for a flashy move rather than hold on to Ulbrich.

But anything can happen in the future. The second half of the 2024 campaign, in particular, could potentially be difficult for this storied franchise.
