The 2024 election brings with it so-called progressive “influencers” who should help Democrats get elected. Obviously, things didn’t go as planned. The Democrats lost. Big time.

Now the ‘influencers’ are seeing their gravy train coming to an end and they don’t want it. They are arguing that Democratic donors should give them more money. This will solve your problem. Right?

Interviews with more than a dozen Democratic content creators reveal how Republicans have helped create a highly organized and well-funded ecosystem of influencers, podcasters and other online celebrities who have successfully amplified and spread pro-Trump content. The widely held belief that it was given was revealed. And content creators are criticizing Democrats’ reckless efforts and underfunding to make an impression in an area they say the party as a whole has overlooked for at least a decade.

They are banding together to create their own network to create content throughout the year, not just the final months before the election. Their goal is to ultimately build a network with self-help advocacy groups that are the left’s answer to the nonprofit organization Turning Point USA or the right’s media company The Daily Wire. But to compete in the new attention economy, where people’s time is currency, they first need support and cash from Democratic donors and institutions.
