Manchester United are not satisfied with just two signings and want more players, but their meager budget means they will likely have to sell players to make their next move.

The club are considering a major overhaul of their midfield amid rumours that star players such as Casemiro and Scott McTominay could both be released.

According to Team TalkAnother experienced player, Christian Eriksen, could also be on the move as Ajax look to sign the Dane on loan.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star struggled to adapt to Erik ten Hag’s switch to a high-speed system, with the midfielder seeing his pace drop by a yard.

Eriksen opens up transfer possibilities

The manager realised this and replaced him with Kobi Mainu, who went on to have breakthrough successes for both club and country.

The Denmark international started just 14 games last season, compared to 37 in his first season at Old Trafford, and has reportedly expressed his frustration with the Dutchman and told close friends he wants to leave the club to earn a more regular starting spot.

It is unlikely United will approve a direct loan deal as Eriksen’s current contract expires in 2025. They do not want to risk losing the player for free.

The 32-year-old arrived as a free agent and any fee recovered on his permanent departure would be a bonus. United plan to sell him this summer or by January at the latest, after which the player can agree a pre-contract with his preferred club.

The Dutch giants, who ended up a full 35 points behind eventual champions PSV Eindhoven, are struggling financially and have been forced to try a loan move.

Ajax eyeing loan deal

According to TEAMtalk, European giants Ajax are interested in signing Manchester United star Christian Eriksen on loan, but the Premier League giants have different plans for the midfielder.

“According to TEAMtalk sources, United are keen to offload Eriksen, while his former club Ajax are interested in bringing him back to the Eredivisie, where he was a rising star between 2010-13.

“The troubled Dutch giants have struggled financially recently and will target a loan deal for the midfielder. They will then try to sign him on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer, but United will be looking to sell him this summer or collect a fee for him in January at the latest.”

His current market value is: 8 million euros And INEOS should consider recouping close to that amount for a player suited to the Dutch league, which is played at a technical and slower tempo than the Premier League.
