American Tommy Paul said before his Wimbledon quarter-final clash with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz that the serve is always the most important shot in men’s tennis and that it is something he wants to improve on in the next round.

Paul, who was good at serving, did not serve as well as he had hoped. 60It accounted for % of the first sub.

The Spanish won 12th seed usa 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 within 3 hours 11 minute.

In the post-match press conference, Paul said, “I didn’t serve well today. I couldn’t find my first serve. It’s tough playing against top players.

Back didn’t do well on his first serve. He was all over my second serve, that’s what it felt like. It wasn’t a fun situation.

I wanted to serve better. It’s hard to start the attack when he serves, and it’s hard to start the attack when he starts every point.

Second sub.

But yeah, I mean, he played better first-strike tennis than I did. He started attacking a lot sooner. I think that’s why he won the match.”

It was an exciting match to watch from under the roof. You could hear the rain pouring down and Paul played a great first set.

In the second set 3-The American lost a game with two double faults (his only double fault in the match) and that was all the Spaniard needed.

Since then, Alcaraz has continued to raise his level and at the end, he seemed to be able to do nothing wrong, hitting his serves and forehands hard, altering spin and speed with his lobs, drop shots and volleys.

Paul said of Alcaraz: “When he starts to build energy and momentum, I don’t know, it feels a little bit different than most other players. He’s just amazing and can play amazing tennis.

“When I go out on the field, the most important thing is to keep him from scoring crazy points, because when he scores, he gets excited.”

Alcaraz said in her post-match press conference that she was delighted to be back in the Wimbledon semi-finals and was pleased with the level she was playing at.

“There is a clear difference between when the roof is open and when it is closed,” the Spaniard said.

I felt a difference when playing on center court and on the court. 1. The solution is different.

Obviously, I think there was more sand on the court 1 More than Center Court. I don’t want to say Hole. There were more games on the court. 1 Than center court.

I had to adapt my game to it. I didn’t feel comfortable playing on the court at all. 1 There are conditions on top of that. Like I said, I had to adapt my game to that. I tried to play my best tennis on top of that.

Yeah, I think I finally found it. I found my best tennis, good tennis. I just felt comfortable. It was hard to find.”

Alcaraz’s next opponent is fifth seed Daniil Medvedev.
