Former Sauber managing director Alessandro Alunni Bravi is joining McLaren Racing’s management team when he takes on the newly created role of chief business officer.
Sauber’s departure from Alunni Bravi was announced earlier this month, with the Italian said at the time that he would be moving on to new adventures. Alunni Bravi said: “The next move to defend the constructor’s champion McLaren has been confirmed to provide executive leadership across a range of McLaren racing business matters, including legal, driver development, commercial, driver contract management and rights holder/governing body management. . ‘
The addition of Alunni Bravi, effective February 1, will take over leadership of McLaren’s driver development program from Stephanie Carlin, who adds responsibility within the Formula 1 team to team principal Andrea Stella.
Alunni Bravi said: “McLaren is a team I have been a huge fan of my whole life, so to now have the opportunity to work with such amazing people brings special emotions for me personally. “I am very grateful to be joining a great organization with values and culture that are visible from the outside.

McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown said Alunni Bravi would have a far-reaching impact not only on the F1 team but also on other racing organizations within McLaren.
