Bragg’s response can be summarized as saying that while he believes in transparency and is open to working with the committee, there is absolutely no chance that prosecutors will say anything about Trump’s case before the former president is sentenced and the appeals process begins.
Bragg knew what Jim Jordan was trying to do. It is clear that Chairman Jordan attempted to intervene in the Trump case to influence the former president’s sentencing. DA Bragg had no intention of playing that game and was fully aware that Jordan had no supervisory authority or authority over Bragg.
All Jordan can do is ask Bragg to testify. If Jim Jordan forces Bragg to testify in any way, the Ohio Republican will lose in court.
Alvin Bragg can tell Jim Jordan to pound sand, or he can nicely suggest that he’ll go to Jordan when he has time, and there’s absolutely nothing Jordan can do other than go to Fox News and Newsmax and complain.
Jordan’s latest attempt to help Trump went nowhere.
