The 2028 election is four years away, but Vice President-elect JD Vance already has a huge lead over his rivals, according to a straw poll conducted at the AmericaFest event.
It was recently revealed by two senior Trump associates that Donald Trump chose Vance as his running mate because he believed Vance would deliver his American message first.
Republican voters seem to know this about Vance and trust him.

AmericaFest Poll: JD Vance Runaway Frontrunner for 2028 Presidential Candidate
Vice President-elect JD Vance is the clear frontrunner for the Republican Party’s 2028 presidential nomination, according to an AmericaFest straw poll conducted at the event.
In one question, the straw poll looked beyond President-elect Donald Trump’s second term and asked attendees who they would like to see as the Republican presidential nominee in 2028.
A majority, 58%, want to see Vance as a candidate for president in 2028. In second place is Donald Trump Jr. (17%). Another 6% said they would like to see Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a candidate for president in 2028, and 11% were undecided.
The survey results come shortly after AmericaFest, which took place December 19-22, 2024.
Vance remains a favorite among conservatives and has supported Trump’s Cabinet picks, including Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, who remains the victim of a sustained smear campaign from Democrats and the Swamp.

If Vance performs well in his role as Vice President, and is expected to do so, he will likely win the Republican nomination as soon as 2028.
