Cheryl infamously bailed on Alcala after she actually met him because she found him “creepy.” And years later, a California jury found that Alcala committed the murders before his TV debut.
Alcala was eventually convicted of the murders of several women and children in Orange County, and has been charged with or implicated in murders in Washington, Arizona, New York, and New Hampshire.
The serial killer died in 2021 while on death row in California.
Anna is making her first attempt at directing, and Netflix describes her film as “a stranger-than-fiction story about an aspiring actress in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer who goes on a murder spree for years.” I was recast in an episode of The Dating Game.”
The film will be released on Netflix on October 18th.
