A few weeks ago, a poll showed Donald Trump slightly ahead of Joe Biden in Virginia. Now another poll says the same thing, and that could potentially be big news.
If Trump beats Biden in Virginia in November, Biden is finished. Republicans haven’t won a presidential election in Virginia since 2004.
If Trump wins here, it will be a landslide victory.
WRIC News report:
A new poll shows Trump ahead of Biden in Virginia, and a political analyst says Biden is “in deep trouble.”
A recent poll shows former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in Virginia.
A recent Emerson College poll sponsored by Nexstar, WRIC’s parent company, found that 45% of registered voters in Virginia supported Trump, while Biden received 43%.
“The real question is, is all this getting to Biden? Are people around him talking to him?” said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. “He’s in deep, deep, deep trouble.”
Sabato said the poll should be a warning sign for the Biden campaign, which beat Trump by 10 points in Virginia to win the White House in 2020.
“Biden is running 12 points below where he was in 2020,” Sabato said. “It’s horrible. It’s absolutely horrible. He’s the incumbent president.”
Democrats are right to be concerned about this issue.
