Among the rookie quarterbacks who entered the NFL last season, there was one who had a lot of doubts: Anthony Richardson from the University of Florida, who ended up going to the Indianapolis Colts after Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers) and CJ Stroud (Houston Texans) were passed over for the draft.

There’s no doubt about his athleticism, as he’s considered the best athlete at his position in terms of size since Cam Newton in his NFL prime, but there have been questions about what Richardson can do in the passing game despite his big arm.

In Week 3, the Colts had an interesting game against rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears, which featured two promising young quarterbacks.

The Colts were able to win despite the team not being very good, with star running back Jonathan Taylor leading the team to victory with two touchdowns and 135 yards from scrimmage.

Despite his first win of the season, it wasn’t a great start for Richardson, who threw a couple of costly interceptions, including one in the end zone via the NFL’s X account.

There’s no doubt that Richardson has the potential to be the Colts’ new franchise quarterback, filling a void the team has been lacking since Andrew Luck suddenly retired in 2019.

But he’s by no means a finished player and will need a lot of polishing to reach his true potential in the NFL.
