Apple Agrees First Contract with U.S. Retail Union Members

In 2022, the Towson location became the first Apple Store in the U.S. to unionize, and in May, it voted to authorize a strike against the company after “unsatisfactory” negotiations.

The International Union of Machinists, Aerospace Workers, Retail Workers (IAM CORE) said it has been negotiating with Apple since January 2023. Under the three-year temporary contract currently in place, workers will receive an average 10% raise over the life of the contract, with starting salaries for most positions increasing. The contract also includes a severance clause. The union represents about 85 employees, who will vote on the contract on August 6.
