Is Steelers running the danger of another Patrick Peterson with Darius Slay?

Steelers decided not to sign Donte Jackson again, and instead, he went for an older Darius Slay. Slay did not intercept the pass in the regular season last year, but still played at a high level. Then Patrick Peterson had a pretty good season for Steelers to sign him.

In fact, Darius Slay is older than when Patrick Peterson signed a contract with Steelers. Slay is already 34 years old, but he has not seen a big decline. In fact, last season he made a professional ball in six seasons in seven seasons. He has defended at least 13 passes over the last three years.

In the last season with the Viking, Peterson scored 15 passes with five passes. In Pittsburgh, he intercepted two times and the 11 -pass defended. If you are looking at the numbers, you will not get a full picture. Steelers sent him after a season, and I couldn’t help, but Darius Slay signed a one -year contract.

Some of the evaluation processes are that they can’t translate the player smoothly from one team to another. Slay has benefited by playing in one of the best defense in the league, and Steelers is eager for the title.

At the same time, the powerful corner back play of Slay and Joey Porter Jr. will help the pass rush, and suddenly Steelers will have the third -largest defense unit again. Perhaps Minkah Fitzpatrick had two (or three) corner bags. Perhaps even if he is 34 years old, Slay will be really good. That’s all.

We can know it in any way by the end of the year, but one thing is certain. Darius Slay is not a long -term solution to Steelers, but I hope he is a nice stop gap. You will catch him faster with him later, but can you surpass your father’s time in 2025?

Steelers’ 2024 season was inevitably inevitable with another one -to -one postseason of HC Mike Tomlin. The attack was shaken, defense was hit and caused a 21-0 deficit in the first half.

Like last year, the biggest question over Steelers is the quarterback question. Do them I still believe in Russell Wilson and/or Justin FieldOr do you want another solution? There is there Other main decisionsThe same is true for GEORGE PICKENS. Do you sign him an extension, try to trade, or make a new contract?

Steelers started 2024 season 10-3 and Mike Tomlin started with this year’s coach dialogue. If you wash, rinse and repeat, there is another late season collapse. This can be the worst. 4 The defeat of the game presupposes one playoff “run”. Welcome to Steelers Football.
