Arne Slot praises Ryan Gravenberch for his ‘outstanding’ performance against Fulham.

Liverpool fans will be disappointed that we failed to record a win against Fulham. But Arne Slot still found time to praise the performance of one of his players.

Speaking to the media after the 2-2 draw, the Dutchman was asked about Ryan Gravenberg and how his player performed.

The 46-year-old answered: “I was as moved as everyone who was in the stadium or watched the game.

“Ryan had an outstanding performance today. Without the ball, he was mostly in our last line and sometimes had to play as a number 9 against really fast wingers.

“And with the ball he came into midfield. Great performance from him.”

As we have seen throughout the rest of the season, the midfielder was in fine form after a disappointing afternoon at Anfield.

Andy Robertson’s red card in the first half forced our manager to change the role of No. 38 and he was certainly tested.

Considering Andreas Pereira posed a terrible challenge for the 22-year-old, we were lucky enough to still see him on the pitch.

Then you can understand why the boss was so impressed with the way his player played in a more defensive role than we’ve seen for most of the campaign.

As Harvey Elliott said, the whole team came together and they almost got three points with just 10 players.

It wasn’t meant to be, but considering the talent on our team, the feeling of victory won’t be that far away.
