Arne Slot says Liverpool have “fallen short of the standards” he expects in one key area – Liverpool FC

Liverpool were left wanting in one key area as they lost to Nottingham Forest, with Arne Slott saying the side were “not up to the standards” he has become accustomed to with his squad.

The Reds’ return from the international break was unforgettable. They had plenty of the ball – 70 per cent, to be exact – but there was little they could do with it.

They generated just 0.87 xG and had five shots on target, but their failure to capitalise on possession time was what upset the slot.

“The only thing we could influence was possession of the ball,” he explained in his post-match press conference.

“We had a lot of possession but only created three or four good chances.

“If you have that much possession and the opposition is running a lot, it’s not enough. We have to be a lot better.

“We lost the ball a lot in simple situations. I think that was the main story of the game. We didn’t have enough possession of the ball.”

He later added: “There are so many solo performances. ~ in “The possession rate wasn’t up to the level I expected from these players.”

Slots definitely make a point, right? We don’t care about this at all.

It was understandable that Liverpool suffered such an unnecessary setback after such a bright start, and Slot pointed out that the quality of the opposition made it worse. However, it is important to stress that he had no disrespectful intentions.

“It’s a huge frustration. It’s always frustrating when you lose a home game,” the Dutchman said.

“maybe [Forest] They will be going all out for a Champions League ticket, but this team is usually not in the top 10, so losing to them would be a huge disappointment.

“I like to see the same attitude every day after a big win, draw or loss: going back to work tomorrow and analysing what we did well and what we didn’t do well.”

We won’t have to wait long for a response as the Reds travel to San Siro on Tuesday night.
