Australian Open: British Doubles Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool win men’s doubles.

Britain’s Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool advanced to the third round of the Australian Open men’s doubles after defeating Mexico’s Santiago Gonzalez and Austria’s Lucas Miedler.

The 11th seed won 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in one hour and 49 minutes to become the only Briton to win on day seven in Melbourne.

Tenth seeds Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski lost 6-2 6-4 to Sweden’s Andre Goransson and Dutchman Sem Verbeek, while fellow Briton Luke Johnson was also eliminated from the competition.

Johnson, along with Netherlands’ Sander Arend, lost 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (9-7) to France’s 16th seeds, Fabien Leboul and Sadio Doumbia.

Elsewhere in women’s doubles, Britain’s Harriet Dart and France’s Diane Parry lost 6-0 6-3 to fifth seeds Chan Hao-ching of Taiwan and Ukraine’s Lyudmyla Kichenok.

Salisbury was also eliminated in the mixed doubles with Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko, losing 3-6 6-3 10-1 to second seeds Michael Venus and Erin Routliffe of New Zealand.
