Olivia Gadecki played her first title match at an ITF event in the US this year, while Alexei Popyrin was set to make his debut in an ATP Masters 1000 final in Montreal.

Olivia Gadecki followed up her Olympic debut in Paris with success on the ITF Circuit, reaching the biggest final of her career at the W100 hardcourt event in Landisville.
The 22-year-old arrives in Paris having reached the quarter-finals or better of just two ITF events this season, but won four straight matches before losing in three sets to American fifth seed McCartney Kessler.
Gadecki, who reached six ITF finals last season, was aiming for a third title and first at W100 level, his first since being knocked out in the W60 Gold Coast final in December.

On hardcourts, James McCabe won his second successive M25 ITF title in the UK with a win in the Roehampton final last month.
This week’s top rankings are:
Alexey Popyrin: The 25-year-old Popyrin, who has been a standout performer for Australia at tour level, had a memorable birthday week, defeating four consecutive top-20 opponents to reach his first ATP Masters 1000 final in Montreal. Having already secured his top-30 debut, he will face fifth seed Andrey Rublev in the rain-delayed final.
James McCabe: Right at home on the British hard courts, 21-year-old McCabe claimed his second ITF singles title at the M25 tournament in Roehampton. The win followed his maiden ITF title in Nottingham last month and took his record on hard courts to 31-15 this year.
Blake Ellis: The 25-year-old reached his fifth ITF final at the M25 in Taipei, losing in straight sets to Yu Hsiou Hsu. Ellis is looking for a maiden title, but it was only the second consecutive season where he won 32 or more matches after going 51-29 last year.
Cruise Hewitt: Hewitt, 15, claimed his biggest junior title and first of the season by winning the J200 Oceania Closed Junior Championships in Sydney. It was the teenager’s fifth junior title and first after winning three J60 hardcourt titles last year.
Gabriela da Silva Pick: The ITF semifinal at the M35 hardcourt event in Roehampton was Da Silva Fick’s first semifinal since winning at Swan Hill in March and his third this year. The 23-year-old reached the quarterfinals of the M35 event in Roehampton last week.
Bernard Tomic: Tomic, who was ranked 17th in the world, improved his season record to 35-20 by advancing to the quarterfinals of the Challenger tournament in Bogota, Colombia.
Tristan School Kate: The 23-year-old improved his record to 31-23 this year after reaching the quarterfinals of the Lincoln Challenger in the United States. It was the fourth time Schoolate had won back-to-back matches since winning his first Challenger title in May.
Ritu: Tu, one of two Australians to reach the Lincoln Challenger quarter-finals, scored 20 points.Day A match won on hard courts this season, following the 28-year-old’s second ATP Challenger final last week in Lexington.
Matthew Romeos: Romeos, seeded second with Italy’s Marco Bortolotti, won his fourth ATP Challenger doubles title on clay at the Cordonone. It was Romeos’ second doubles title of the season and his first on clay since Trieste in Italy in July last year.
Matthew Dellavedova: As the third seed, Dellavedova reached the quarterfinals of the M25 ITF tournament in Montesilvano, Italy. It was her eighth ITF quarterfinal on clay this year.
Joshua Charlton: The 25-year-old won his seventh ITF doubles title of the season with Brit Ben Jones at the M15 indoor carpet event in Dublin, following Charlton’s doubles win at the M25 in Roehampton last month.
Alexandra Osborne: The 29-year-old reached her eighth ITF doubles semifinal of 2024 with Haley Giavara at the W35 in Coxede, Belgium. This followed her reaching the W35 doubles final in Segovia, Spain, last month.
Lizette Cabrera: The 26-year-old claimed her first ITF doubles title in two years at the W35 Hardcourts event in Roehampton. Partnering with Uzbekistan’s Nygina Abduraymova, it was Cabrera’s fifth ITF doubles trophy and third on hardcourt.
