VSee Health, a San Jose-based telehealth company, and Ava Robotics, a developer of intelligent robots for the workplace, announced a partnership to develop autonomous, VSee-based Ava robots for use in hospital inpatient intensive care units.

VSee’s SaaS platform enables clinicians and businesses to create remote care workflows and powers robots that allow remote doctors to be at the bedside and collaborate with on-site staff to care for patients in the ICU.

“Not only will patients receive the best expertise and better care regardless of location, but hospitals will be able to deliver a new level of care by reducing transport and costs associated with critical care and stroke,” Dr. Imo Aisiku, VSee Health’s co-CEO and president, said in a statement.

“With the first commercial product launch in June, the Ava Robot is expected to improve remote stroke surgery, and as the robot’s use expands, additional applications in healthcare will be identified.”
