Jersey City’s Uber Eat customers can now provide orders by one of Avride’s autonomous reporting robots.

The launch that started in New Jersey this week is the latest autonomous vehicle of UBER, indicating an extension with Avride. Ride-Hail and Delivery Giant place AVS in 11 cities with six partners, including Cartken, Coco, Nuro and SERV Robotics. In addition, we are preparing to introduce WAYMO’s robot Laxis to the apps in Austin and Atlanta in early 2025.

Uber first announced a partnership with Avride and brought the company’s delivery bot and autonomous cars to the Uber platform in October 2024. Since then, the two have begun to deliver robots. Austin and Dallas.

They also plan to launch Avride’s autonomous driving cars in Dallas this year, and Avride’s first Robotaxi deployment in Avride is a spin -out of Yandex, a Russian technology company that dismantled its business last year as a result of Russia’s 2022 invasion. Ukraine. Startup recently started with a 100 robot of Ohio State University and announced a partnership with GRUBHUB to bring a bot to the university campus across the United States.

Jersey City is an interesting and challenging choice. Especially in February, snow, rain and frozen temperatures can make small bots difficult.

Avride says the bot can work in the eyes and “medium precipitation.” The company’s spokesman also mentioned that the bot can move up to five miles per hour in a range of 31 miles on a single charge, but the optimal shipping range is within 1 to 2 miles.

Avride plans to expand the bot for one square miles of Jersey City, from Hamilton Park to Historic Downtown and Waterfront. Avride did not reveal how many bots would be placed on the distance of Jersey City.

Michelin grade Jiangnan, Rumi Turkish Grill and Gulp will participate. Customers who order the Uber Eats app can choose from a traditional courier or Avride robot providing meals.

You can also track the location of the bot through the Uber Eats app. When the bot arrives, the customer can get a notification and use the app to unlock and catch the food.

In last week’s 4Q import report Dara Khosrowshahi CEO mentioned 2024 was a turning point in the AV industry, which shows $ 1 trillion in the United States alone.

Despite this optimism, he has time due to various factors, including high costs, sculpture shortage regulatory environments, seasonal demand fluctuations, and “superhuman” levels of safety for AV commercialization. I warned that this would take. .
