Tottenham’s 100% pre-season record came to an end today as they lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich in Seoul.
The presence of Spurs captain Son Heung-min meant most of the crowd in the South Korean capital were rooting for Ange Postecoglou’s side, but it made little difference as the Bundesliga side prevailed despite the humid weather.
Gabriel Vidovic put Bayern ahead after just four minutes, before Leon Goretzka put them ahead again 11 minutes into the second half.
Pedro Porro pulled one back but Vincent Kompany’s men were unable to stop him.

Without former Spurs captain Harry Kane and Germany internationals Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala, Bayern made the better start and took an early lead when Vidovic slotted home after mistakes by goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Jed Spence denied Sergi Gnabry.
Vidovic almost had a second goal after 17 minutes, but failed to grab the rebound after Vicario blocked Matis Tel’s shot.
Son Heung-min was quiet in attack, but he saved Spurs with a superb block from Tell’s cross to Vidovic, who was free to move through the middle.
Tell and Gnabry both went close as Bayern continued to dominate, with Vicario also making a fine save from Raphael Guerreiro’s effort.
Both managers made several substitutions in the first half, but the flow of the game did not change, with a tired Vicario holding off Bryan Zaragoza’s attacks well.
But Bayern’s second goal, which they were threatening, came after 56 minutes. Tell broke through the heart of the Spurs defence and, although Vicario blocked the first attempt, the midfielder made no mistake with the second goal.
Bayern substitute Eric Dier almost gave his former club a chance to get back into the game after just an hour, his mistake giving Pape Sarr the chance to test Sven Ulreich.
And six minutes later, Spurs pulled one back as Poro found space and fired home a powerful goal.

Spurs almost equalised two minutes later when a young Lucas Bergval almost got the ball back.
More substitutions eased the tension in the game, but Bayern should have had a third goal in the second half when Adam Azno fired wide from the far post.
