Bellingham continues his fine scoring form as Real Madrid bounce back against Girona.

Jude Bellingham scored in his fifth consecutive La Liga game as Real Madrid bounced back from defeat to beat Girona.

Bellingham, Arda Guler and Kylian Mbappe all scored as Los Blancos beat Girona 3-0 at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi on Saturday.

The 21-year-old England midfielder became the first Real player to score in five consecutive league games since Karim Benzema in 2021.

Before his latest goal, Bellingham had not scored a goal this season.

Real’s number five opened the scoring in the 36th minute and set up Gouller for his side’s second goal after half-time.

Bellingham had to be replaced by Dani Ceballos after picking up a knock.

Real added a third when Kylian Mbappe, selected by Luka Modric, scored his ninth La Liga goal.

The result comes just three days after Madrid lost 2-1 to the high-flying Athletic Club, taking Carlo Ancelotti’s side to within two points of leaders Barcelona with a game in hand.

Real’s Catalan rivals were held to a 2-2 draw at Real Betis earlier in the day. Robert Lewandowski scored his 23rd goal in 21 games for the club this season, but it was not enough to prevent Barcelona from dropping points for the fourth time in five La Liga games.

Lewandowski scored in the 39th minute of the first half at the Benito Villamarin Stadium, and Giovani Lo Celso equalized with a penalty kick in the 68th minute. Frenkie de Jong was sent off for knocking down former Barça teammate Vitor Roque.

Ferran Torres restored the lead for the visitors, but Betis equalized in the 94th minute through Ahsan Diao to draw 2-2.

Real’s next game is away to Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday, while Barcelona’s game is away to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
