The Washington Wizards exercised their third-year rookie-sized team option on guard/forward Bilal Koulibaly yesterday.
Through three games this season, the second-year pro is averaging 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game on .500 shooting from the field. Koulibaly scored a career-high 23 points against Cleveland on October 26 and tied his career high with four 3-pointers.
French-born Courbevoie represented his home country in six games during the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping the French team win a silver medal.
In his rookie season, Koulibaly ranked sixth among rookies in total steals and blocks, and was in the top 10 in scoring (ninth) and rebounds (eighth) at the time of his season-ending injury. He was the second-youngest player to appear in a game last season and averaged 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting .435 from the field and .346 from 3-point range.
