The BNP Paribas Open is one of the biggest tennis tournaments held during the year with some fans calling it the 5th grand slam.
The tournament is played on outdoor hard courts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden with the biggest stadium court in the complex having a capacity of approximately 16,000 tennis fans.

The tournament usually takes place in the first two weeks of March with the Miami Open being played in the last two weeks of March.
Players who manage to win both tournaments are said to have completed the “Sunshine Double”.
Over the years, a number of players have been able to achieve the sunshine double including Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, and Kim Clijsters.

The 2025 ATP and WTA Tournaments in Indian Wells will be held over two weeks from the 5th to the 16th of March 2025, with singles qualifying taking place on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of March 2025.
It is expected that the Arizona Tennis Classic (a Challenger 175 event) will be held in the second week for ATP players who lose in the first week in Indian Wells like it was in 2024.
Tickets
Tickets for the 2025 tournament in Indian Wells will be sold through the official tournament website, with tickets going on sale in late 2024.
For the 2024 tournament, tickets for the qualifying matches from the 2nd to the 4th of March started at $10, with single-session ticket prices for other days starting at $30.
