Bradley Beal’s agent: No talk about waiving no-trade clause

MONews

Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal and his agent have said nothing about waiving his no-trade clause and his only focus is helping the team get out of its recent slump, agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPN.. The Suns have been linked to Jimmy Butler after the Miami Heat suspended him and announced last week that they would explore trade options. This led to speculation and reports that Beal may have been involved.

The Heat are reportedly not interested in Bradley Beal, meaning Phoenix would need a third team if they want Jimmy Buckets. So I came up with three Jimmy Butler trades, all of which show why the Suns made it work for them: bit.ly/4h0a1Zz11:03 AM

As agent Mark Bartelstein told Windy, Beal has not been approached about waiving his no-trade clause. That’s because there wasn’t a trade offer the Heat could accept. So there’s nothing to ask Beal about either coming here (which won’t happen) or waiving his no-trade ban to some random third team. – 10:44 AM

Bradley Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, dismissed trade rumors involving his client, saying there have been no discussions about waiving his no-trade clause. Beal’s focus will be to help turn around the struggling Suns. espn.com/nba/story/_/id…7:42 AM

I wouldn’t do that because it would cost too much cash. But if I were the Nets, I would try to use the Ben Simmons contract to snatch a pick from the Heat and Suns to deal with Bradley Beal. I faked an injury to make sure he didn’t sabotage the tank. – 6:13 PM

Bradley Beal said he was surprised to be moved to the bench, but the Suns have not addressed him about the trade rumors.
Speculation suggests Beal was moved to the bench in part to make him unhappy enough to waive his no-trade clause if a deal goes through. We’ll see.

Even if the Heat and Suns (Butler suitors) can find a third team that will not only accept Beal’s contract but be willing to give the Heat something (good luck with that), Beal – moved to the bench – reminded reporters yesterday ( (via The Athletic). Because of his no-deal clause: “I – 10:23 AM

More details this plot

The situation took an unexpected turn Monday when Suns coach Mike Budenholzer decided to move Beal to the bench in an attempt to revitalize the team after losing 17 of its last 24 games. “We’ve never discussed a trade with the Suns or any other team,” Bartelstein said. “Bradley’s entire focus is to help the Suns turn things around.” – through ESPN / January 8, 2025

With a $216 million salary and trade restrictions to become a second apron team, Phoenix had no functional way to acquire Butler without using Beal as part of the deal. Bartelstein didn’t rule out waiving the clause on an approved deal if the “perfect” situation arises, as he did when Beal was traded to the Suns in 2023. But no such measures are currently being considered, Bartelstein reiterated. – through ESPN / January 8, 2025
