It’s officially August and NFL training camp is underway. The Cleveland Browns have been practicing at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia since last Thursday. During Thursday’s practice, RB D’Onta Foreman suffered a neck injury at the end of the team’s punt period.

According to reports, Foreman suffered a direct hit to the head. Cleveland’s training staff responded quickly to Foreman’s injury and secured him in place. He was transported by ambulance and was scheduled to be flown by helicopter to a medical center in Roanoke, Virginia. The Browns team account for X posted that they will provide additional updates as they learn more.

D’Onta Foreman unfortunately suffered a neck injury during practice Thursday.

In the offseason, the Browns added D’Onta Foreman to their roster as a veteran RB who could help out while Nick Chuck recovers from injury. Now, without Foreman, Cleveland is very thin at RB. D’Onta Foreman is in his seventh year in the NFL and first time with the Browns. He’s also with his third team in the last three seasons. Foreman was with the Panthers in 2022 and the Bears in 2023. Over the last two seasons, Foreman has made 17 starts and scored nine touchdowns.

With Foreman injured in practice today, the Browns may need help at RB. They still have Jerome Ford and Nyheim Hines on their roster. Ford played in all 17 games for Cleveland last season, making 12 starts. He carried the ball 204 times for 813 yards rushing and four touchdowns. The former fifth-round pick also added 44 catches for 319 yards and five receiving touchdowns. With Nick Chubb likely to miss the start of the 2024 season, Jerome Ford is in position to be the Browns’ starter in Week 1. Cleveland is hoping D’Onta Foreman’s neck injury isn’t serious and he doesn’t miss too much time.
