Cleveland Browns signed a contract with Teven Jenkins on Thursday.
Jenkins, 27, was 39th overall by Bears in 2021 and missed most of the rookie season after surgery. The Chicago was originally drafted by the former office of Bears, and moved Jenkins from the left tackle to the right tackle and right guard during the 2022 season. He eventually switched to the left guard and played 22 games from 2023-24.
If possible, Jenkins was Chicago’s best attack lineman (four sacks in 2024), but they missed 22 games in the first four years of NFL career.
Jenkins deserved a contract to extend the contract in the last offseason, and reporters said they would talk with his representative after the team arrived a week in the seventh week. The dialogue never paid off, and Jenkins said that even though it was open to stay in Chicago, “mentally” free agency is ready to test the market.
Jenkins appeared in 45 games in 4 seasons.
On Thursday, Cleveland played six games last season and signed the corner back Tony Brown II, who had five tackles in the special team.
