Brian Koberger He first appeared before a judge in 2025. And everything seemed clean to him.
The suspect accused of killing four University of Idaho students arrived in a Boise courtroom Thursday. He was wearing a suit and had shaved the nape of his face. When his last mugshot was taken in September, he was sporting a thin beard.
Kohberger appeared solemn throughout the proceedings. Great care was taken as his attorneys argued with prosecutors over potentially key evidence.
As we said…a hearing was held yesterday at a request made to the court by lawyers for several media outlets. Allow more access Coverage – an important issue, considering how shrouded the secret process has been until now.
Kohberger was excused from yesterday’s hearing…the judge said he would decide today which parts of the hearing will be open to the public. However, a key part of the day’s proceedings is the argument for the inclusion of DNA evidence related to: Koberger’s family will be held privately.

The judge in the case added that he wants the media to have access to the proceedings, but must balance access with Koberger’s right to a fair trial.

In case you didn’t know… prosecutors say Kohberger now demolished killed four victims in an off-campus home. Ethan Chapin, Jana Kernowdle, Madison Morgen and Kaylee Goncalves — But he left his DNA on the hunting knife sheath.
Koberger was arrested in Pennsylvania in late 2022 after crossing the country with his father from Washington state.
Brian has not appeared in court since November 7. His trial is scheduled for August 2025.
