Cadillac Formula Team 1 will run most of the projects in Indiana’s new facilities, but according to the GRAEME LOWDON team, US drivers will only choose US drivers as part of their contributions.
The F1 and the FIA confirmed that last week, Cadillac met all the requirements to join the grid in 2026, and the 11th team opened a way for the 11th team to fully prepare for their debut.
CADILLAC has previously suggested that the US driver would be part of the setting, but Lowdon said it would only be if he proved that he was capable. (Main image) If California does not have a FIA Super License this year, you can take it out of your hand.
“We must choose a driver for merit,” he said. “Luckily, we have a lot of good drivers. Unfortunately, we could not be in the driver market until the item was confirmed. So it’s too early to go too much in the details because we can have meaningful conversations.
“Obviously we want a driver that can contribute to the entire program. The obvious question is whether we have an American driver. And personally, I have no reason for American drivers to choose as an advantage.
“It is definitely what fans want to see. And there’s no reason why that can’t happen. But the most important goal is the advantage. We have something to do here. ”
There are few questions about the US connection with the US headquarters. Cadillac has facilities in several US regions, including Indiana, North Carolina, and Michigan, there is a Silverstone in England, and Indiana’s Fisher will be a focus, Lowdon says.
Lowdon said, “Formula 1 is a global sport but not a mistake. This is a US team and will be racing under the US flag. “The team’s headquarters is in Fishers. There is a place where the team will be the center.
“We are currently building a very impressive facility for Fishers. The external fabric of the building is currently completed and is an incredibly impressive facility.
“But if you look at the practicality of competition in Formula 1, it’s reasonable to have a European base. And we chose Silverstone for that base. And there are many reasons for being supplied to it, but you can approach at least an experienced talent.
“If you enter Silverstone’s office, you will recognize almost everyone there. And it would have been too difficult for some of the experienced human resources to form a team where they were not in place. Therefore, some functions are performed in Silverstone and some functions will be built over time in Fishers.
“One of our activities in Silverstone is the European processing time of logistics. Because doing so is reasonable. All teams have logistics hubs in Europe to support races that are not configured for fly away cargo. But we have a small manufacturing facility in Silverstone, which is mainly creating components of wind model models.
“The wind we are using is in Cologne, and we have a contract in the long run to use the tunnel. And it is reasonable to have the ability to manufacture in a position slightly closer than Indianapolis. In summary, it’s an American team and a team based in the United States. ”
Lowdon says Cadillac’s additional facilities as part of the F1 project will help to solidify their seats in multiple Motorsport Heartlands.
“facilities [in Fishers]… When you see them, I hope you agree. Formula 1 This is a great help to the ecosystem. It is really something else that is being built there. But we will exist in Silverstone. We also exist in Charlotte, North Carolina. Currently, there are many activities with GM’s colleagues, and the GM Technology Center is located in Charlotte and North Carolina.
“So one thing I think is very cool, but I’m interested in this sport, which is very nice to have these three legs in the stool. One is in Charlotte, which is the capital of NASCAR. One is in India Police, the capital of Indie cars. The other is in Silverstone, the home of Formula 1.
“So every time I’m in the Cadillac Formula 1 team, there’s only motor racing DNA around it. And it is another thing I think I am attractive. ”
