Tell us about your tennis experience. Do you play?
When I was young, I went to a tennis camp during school holidays and I loved it. Obviously my skills aren’t perfect yet, but tennis is one of those sports where you can pick up a racket and start hitting while still being sociable and having fun at any age or stage.
Who is your favorite tennis player?
I love watching tennis, especially the Australian Open. Since Channel Nine is the home of tennis coverage, we can head down and see it all. I’m a bit old-school in terms of enjoying Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. I always loved watching them play. But at the same time, it’s amazing to see new talent emerge.
The job allows you to experience the Australian Open up close and personal. What were some of the highlights?
You can go to the Rod Laver Arena court during the Open. But it’s also really fun to see all the other activities and the different ways tennis is reaching the community through different styles of games for children and adults. I think Cardio Tennis is a great idea. We need to do more! This is a great way to stay fit and involved in the game.
If you could meet and interview any player in tennis history, who would you choose?
Probably John McEnroe. Because he is a very loose unit. It can be so much fun because you never know where he will go or what will irritate or upset him.
