Charles Barkley announced that he plans to retire from broadcasting after the 24-25 season.

“I’ve talked to every network, but I’m not going anywhere but TNT,” Barkley said on NBATV after Game 4 of the Finals. “But I decided for myself that no matter what happens, next year will be my last year on television.

“I want to say thank you to my NBA family. You have been good to me. My heart is filled with joy and gratitude. But I will be passing the baton at the end of next year. I hope the NBA wins, but I personally I wanted you to hear from me because please don’t call me again.”

TNT has not been officially ruled out as a broadcast partner for the NBA after next season, but is expected to lose its rights to NBC.

Barkley joined TNT in 2000, and his partnership with Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal on Inside The NBA has become one of the most legendary institutions in sports television.
