The Chicago Sky announced that coach James Wade’s tenure has been extended through 2025.

According to James Kay of The Next Hoops, the latest contract extension signed by Wade was a “renegotiated and refurbished deal” that will replace the deal Wade signed in 2021 after leading the Sky to their first title in franchise history.

“The clock starts again and the new contract is now for three years.”

Wade has compiled a 74-50 record since taking over the sideline in 2019. Wade led the Sky to third, first, second and first place finishes in the Eastern Conference. He led the Sky to their first title in 2021 as a sixth seed.

This year, the Sky (26-10) finished as the No. 1 team in the East, but are the second overall seed in the playoffs behind the Aces, who finished with the same record but defeated the Sky three times to maintain the tiebreaker. Four regular season meetings.
