Clearly, there has been a lot of focus on President Biden’s role in this process. You were clearly in close contact with President Biden long before the public paid attention to the controversy that ultimately led to his resignation. I want to tell you a little bit about what you said last year. look.

I speak with President Biden regularly, sometimes several times a week, or usually several times a week. His mental acuity is extraordinary. it’s okay. I love it even after several years. Any right-wing propaganda about his decline in mental acuity is wrong.

Leader Schumer, what would you say to Americans who feel that you and other senior Democrats have misunderstood President Biden’s mental acuity?
sen. Chuck Schumer:
no. See, we didn’t. And – let’s look at – let’s look at President Biden. He has an incredible record. This bill we passed is one of the most important pieces of legislation since the New Deal. A record 235 judges have been produced since Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society. And he is a patriot. He’s a great guy. And when he stepped down, he did it himself because he thought it was better not only for the Democratic Party, but for America. We should all pay tribute to him. We should all pay tribute to him.
Christine Welker:
As we have this conversation today, do you think President Biden could serve another four years if he had stayed in the race and potentially won?
sen. Chuck Schumer:
Well, I won’t guess. Like I said, I think his record is an outstanding record. And he will go down in history as a truly outstanding president.
