What got you into F1?
My last hit was in the last race of the 1997 season when Mika Häkkinen took his first win. [at Jerez]. When Jacques ran that famous race [Villeneuve] And Michael [Schumacher] We crashed. That was the last time. [where I thought]’Hey, wow, this is crazy!’
When and where did you first drive something? Alex Albon tells the story of how he cried while driving through Disneyland when he was 5 years old…
[Laughs]. No, I didn’t cry! I crashed on the first lap. It was my first lap. I was five years old, and it was in my hometown, Lahti, Finland.
How many times did it take you to pass your driver’s license test?
It’s my first time! Easy. No worries about theory test, driving test! It’s my first time taking a truck license too…
