Entering the 2024 NFL season, the New York Giants were a team that many expected to be one of the worst teams in the league, as they failed to upgrade their quarterback and had to stick with Daniel Jones for one more year despite signing a rookie. Wide receiver Malik Nabers helps bolster the offense.

The chances of New York becoming a force to be reckoned with in the NFC seemed slim. Especially after Saquon Barkley was lost in free agency to the division rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Four games into the campaign, the Giants are 1-3 and have lost to division rivals the Dallas Cowboys. New York had a chance to win this game.

Unfortunately, the Giants fell short, with Jones failing to throw a touchdown pass and Neighbor leaving the game with a concussion in the fourth quarter.

But FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd thinks the Giants might not be as far away from being as good a team as they seem.

“The bones are here. That’s not the case with quarterbacks,” Cowherd said on “The Herd.”

Cowherd may be right, but coach Brian Daboll could end up being the fall guy. Because this season will hinge on whether Jones can get the offense going.

With Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel waiting for another head coaching opportunity in the NFL, the Giants could make a difference if they can’t turn things around this season.
