Colorado Bulldog – A Beautiful Mess

MONews
6 Min Read

The Colorado Bulldog drink is a carbonated twist on the classic cocktails, the White Russian and Black Russian. This rich, coffee-flavored recipe starts with a base similar to the White Russian, using Karua and Vodka. Then a layer of cola is added to the recipe. What a delightful and unexpected twist! The Colorado Bulldog has a similar flavor to the White Russian, but with the flavor, sweetness, and carbonation of cola. It’s so delicious! I’m so happy to share the Colorado Bulldog recipe with you!

How to Make a Colorado Bulldog

No cocktail shaker required for this recipe – just pour it into a glass and mix!

Pour the vodka and coffee liqueur into a double Old Fashioned glass filled with ice. Then top with a splash of cola, leaving a little room for the cream.

Finally, add a little cream. This drink will eventually mix up to a light latte-brown color, but I like to serve it with the cream floating on top. Garnish with a cherry!

Tips and tricks for making

  • Many recipes call for adding the cola at the end, but I think it turns out better if you add it at the end with the cream (like when making a White Russian).
  • If you want a flavorful change, try substituting the vodka with cherry-flavored or vanilla vodka.
  • If you want to make this recipe into a dessert, replace the heavy cream with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s similar to an affogato, a sweet cocktail reminiscent of a root beer float.
  • Swap out the vodka for tequila and you have the Colorado Mother cocktail.
