About the role:

GREENPEACE CANADA (GPC) is a communication expert who develops and implements communication plans to build a profile, increase the basis of supporters, and make a campaign.

The main focus of this position is to provide influential Greenpeace campaigns and organizational communication by identifying media, promotion and participation opportunities. Provide strategic communication advice related to these opportunities; Storytelling, audience analysis, media analysis and other technologies create effective cross -platform outputs.

Major responsibility:

  1. Use storytelling technology to enhance your profile, participate and mobilize supporters, and switch frames around campaign issues.
  2. In the allocated campaign areas, lead the development of a comprehensive communication strategy, creating goals, and leading the creation of a framework, including the use of traditional, digital and multimedia channels.
  3. It develops productive relationships with various outlets and journalists.
  4. Act as an organizational spokesman.
  5. GREENPEACE and volunteers will advise GPC campaigns, fundraising and influence strategies by pursuing opportunities to emphasize and amplify and amplify their activities nationwide and internationally.
  6. Provide strategic advice, data and media relationships on reactivity and crisis communication as needed. Create press releases, statements, op-EDs, blog posts and other media and social media in French and English. Prepare major messages, background designers, Q & A and other materials to support communication in French and English.
  7. Correct and edit a variety of materials for grammar, style, tone, messaging and accuracy in French and English.
  8. Manage design and translation requests as needed and correct/edit the translated copies.
  9. Perform the media monitoring and flag the main opportunity or story to the relevant colleagues. This may include providing a range other than the standard four -day working week as needed.
  10. To ensure the accuracy of the data and to participate in the strategic development of the designated campaign, keep the Greenpeace project, program and campaign as well as relevant external development (eg politics, science) to the latest state.
  11. We support public event organizations, including press conferences, meetings, supporters and nonviolent direct actions.
  12. Provide Greenpeace employees and volunteers with media and public communication training, support and guidelines.
  13. We are leading cross -functions, national and global projects as needed according to the established GP project management process. It serves as a task manager within the project management framework. Supervise the approved project budget.
  14. Participate as a member of a wide range of campaigns, participation and fundraising teams that support the team’s overall goals and demands, including working outside (e.g. mobilization or volunteer project).

Necessary technology:
