A new FBI report shows a 15.2% decline in violent crime under Biden, but Trump’s presidency saw the largest surge in murder rates in a century.

According to the FBI’s Quarterly Crime Statistics Report released Monday: “The January-March 2024 Quarterly Uniform Crime Report (Q1) provides a preliminary look at crime trends for January-March 2024 compared to January-March 2023. Data covering the months January through March 2023 and 2024 show a 15.2% decrease in reported violent crime. Murders decreased by 26.4%, rapes decreased by 25.7%, robberies decreased by 17.8%, and aggravated assaults decreased by 12.5%. Reports of property crimes also decreased by 15.1%.”
“The murder rate in the U.S. increased 30% between 2019 and 2020, the largest increase in over 100 years,” Pew Research found in an analysis of two sets of government data on homicides from 2019 to 2020. This is a single-year increase. These findings are consistent with a separate table of national homicide rates released by the FBI in September.”
Republicans and Trump continue to campaign to be the party of law and order, but the numbers show that it was Biden who reduced crime and brought it under control. The Trump presidency has been disguised as chaos, with crime rising and the former president repeatedly proposing to cut funding for law enforcement from the budget.
Trump, a professed “law and order” candidate who has been soft on crime, is a convicted felon. The truth of the crime is clear. America is safer under Joe Biden.
