The men’s ATP Tour, which gained a say in the ITF’s decision-making process two years ago, will be content with a shorter period.

Many players have also advocated for more frequent home and away matches to be resumed to avoid the two teams having to play at neutral venues.

In September, the United States, Chile, Germany and Slovakia had to travel to China to advance to the group stage. At the time, the United States had five men ranked in the top 20, none of whom made the trip.

Changes are also coming to the Billie Jean King Cup finals, which will be held starting in 2025.

The final, which currently features 12 teams competing, will revert to an eight-team event to mirror the traditional Davis Cup format.

To enable this transition, next April’s qualifiers will be held in a group format with 21 teams divided into seven groups. The seven group winners will join the hosts in the final.

A bidding process is underway to host next year’s finals.

This year, for the first time, the finals of both competitions will be held at the same venue in Málaga.

The Billie Jean King Cup final, which includes Great Britain, begins on November 13, with the Davis Cup final six days later.
