AI isn’t new territory for the XPS 13. Dell has been selling a thin 13-inch version of its “CoPilot+ PC” with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X-series CPU since mid-2024. This new model supports the same Windows AI features but with up to 48 tera operations per second of AI performance (or (consultation) Compared to the 45 TOPs of Snapdragon chips. And more importantly for most people, there will be no Arm-related app compatibility issues.

Aside from the CPU, the new XPS 13 is essentially the same as its predecessor. Both the keyboard and the glass haptic touchpad stretch from edge to edge, and they come in the same solid graphite and platinum finishes. You can also upgrade to a tandem OLED display (as seen in Apple’s latest iPad Pro), which is a brighter and more power-efficient option than the traditional OLED display. That OLED model is just 0.58 inches thick and weighs 2.6 pounds, while the FHD+ and QHD+ configurations are 0.6 inches thick and weigh 2.7 pounds.

Dell says the XPS 13 will offer up to 26 hours of battery life with the FHD+ display, which is up from the 18 hours of the previous Intel-based model, but a one-hour downgrade from the Snapdragon version. At least on paper (though, as with all laptops, testing may vary).

There’s no word yet on whether Dell’s other 14-inch and 16-inch XPS laptops will get the same Intel Core Ultra 200V series treatment. When asked about their fate, a company representative told Mashable:[it’s] Dell’s policy is not to discuss future products or roadmaps.”
