It’s a story-driven game about people, the emotional spirit and camaraderie of football. You play as Julián, a brave 8-year-old from Quito, Ecuador. He enjoys a fun afternoon neighborhood soccer game with his friends after a long day at school. The game tells the story of Ecuador’s economic difficulties in the late 1990s and the growing sense of community and unity ahead of the 2002 World Cup. Developers Julián Cordero and Sebastián Valbuena based the game’s setting, dialogue, and experiences on their own childhood memories and photos of growing up in Ecuador.
