There is a strong belief among some conservatives that Barack Obama is “secretly directing” the Biden administration.
Of course, it would be nearly impossible to prove that this is true these days, with every media outlet in the country and the President’s closest aides keeping his condition a secret.
But Obama still has enormous influence and affection in the Democratic Party, so his thoughts and words matter.
And according to reports, what he said about Joe Biden wasn’t nice.
Did Obama Abandon Biden?
Democrats have been talking to Obama and Biden about a 2024 race, at least according to CNN. It doesn’t sound good.
More than a dozen congressmen and insiders have talked to Obama, and he thinks it’s “Joe-ever.” The problem is, they don’t know what to do about it. They just know it’s over, and all they have to do is watch how it dies.
Frankly, it was shocking to see, unprecedented in my lifetime, elected Democrats and a significant number of media figures actively calling for a Democrat to step down, especially a sitting Democratic president.
And it’s not just the backbenchers. Pelosi got in on the action, too. Hakeem Jeffries, the current Democratic minority leader in the House, followed suit.
Obama was also known to have been aware of the shocking comments made by Hollywood actor George Clooney urging Biden to resign. Nothing was done to discourage him..
Surprisingly, there are also reports that Clooney called Obama in advance to give him some advance notice.
If Obama is genuinely concerned about Biden’s ability to win the race, it would be clear to the Biden team that they should listen. Obama ran two near-perfect campaigns and made it look easy.
Bunker Biden hid during the campaign and let the media (and changed election rules) do the work for him.
More Democrats Flee Sinking Ship
I haven’t seen anything like this since 1968 (or 1972).
Here’s a full list of every Democrat who has called for Biden’s resignation so far:
- Colorado Representative Brittany Pettersen
- Illinois Rep. Eric Sorenson
- Scott Peters, California Representative
- Representative Jim Himes of Connecticut
- Arizona Representative Greg Stanon
- Hawaii’s representative Ed Case
- Illinois Rep. Brad Schneider
- Rep. Hillary Scholten of Michigan
- Oregon State Rep. Earl Blumenauer
- Pat Ryan, New York’s representative
- New Jersey State Rep. Mikie Sherrill
- Adam Smith, Washington’s representative
- Angie Craig, Minnesota Representative
- Illinois State Rep. Mike Quigley
- Seth Moulton, Representative of Massachusetts
- Arizona Representative Raul Grijalva
- Representative Lloyd Doggett of Texas
- Senator Peter Welch of Vermont
One thing is certain, if – and I am being generous here – If the Biden is utterly incapable of running a presidential campaign, much less of getting out of the race.
He should resign immediately.
If he can’t campaign, he can’t run a government. The end.
