Former US President Donald Trump has warned singer Taylor Swift after she publicly supported his rival and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

“I was never a Taylor Swift fan… I can’t support Biden. But she’s a very progressive person. She always seems to support the Democrats, and she’s going to pay the price in the marketplace,” Trump said in an interview on “Fox & Friends” after his debate with Harris.

Swift formally endorsed Harris for president shortly after the debate and criticized Trump for previously using fake images to suggest she supported him.

Trump has said he likes Swift’s friend Britney Mahomes. Britney has been at the center of a social media controversy and backlash after liking an Instagram post from Donald Trump detailing his 2024 campaign. The Aug. 13 Instagram post featured Trump declaring his stance on banning “Hamas radicals” and “excluding men from women’s sports.” Mahomes later hit back at trolls who liked her with a cryptic post that seemed to support Trump’s controversial stance.

Brittany Mahomes is married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is close friends with teammate Travis Kelce, Swift’s boyfriend. Swift and Brittany were spotted hugging and being friendly at the U.S. Open earlier this month, which sparked controversy on social media because Brittany is a Trump supporter.
