Dr. Congo and the M23 rebels confirm their participation in the Angola peace talks | Conflict news

The conversation that DRC rejected before will try to solve the spiral conflict in the east.

Rwanda’s M23 Rebel Group and the Congo government confirmed that they will participate in peace talks in Angola.

A spokesman for the M23 said on Monday that the delegation was sent to the Angola capital, Lunanda. The rebels have occupied the main regions of the eastern part of the Congo Democratic Republic (DRC) minerals, as the main attacks that have been killed by thousands of people since the beginning of this year.

The delegation representing the DRC is currently in Luanda for Tuesday talks in Luanda. A spokesman for Felix Tshisekedi told the AP News Agency. TSHISEKEDI has previously refused to negotiate with the rebel group for disputes, which has long rooted.

The M23 also sent a delegation to Luanda, Lawrence Kanyuka spokesman X.

Angola has been trying to mediate truce for several months. After Rwanda insisted on a direct conversation between the DRC and the M23, the peace talks were canceled at the end of last year.

But Lunanda announced last week that it would host a direct peace negotiation.

M23 leader Bertrand Bisimwa declared last week that the rebels had forced the TSHISEKEDI to the negotiation table. “Peace begins with dialogue. The faster we talk, the faster the peace becomes. ”

Humanitarian crisis

Eastern DRC conflicts expanded earlier this year when the M23 rebels performed lightning attacks and seized strategic city GOMA and Bukavu.

The M23 is one of the 100 armed groups to drink a scaffold in the eastern DRC rich in minerals near the border with Rwanda. This conflict has created one of the most important humanitarian crises in the world.

More than 7 million people have been stolen and 7,000 people have died from the beginning of the year.

According to the United Nations, the M23 was supported by about 4,000 soldiers in Rwanda and previously promised to march to the DRC capital, Kinshasa.

Rwanda is acting as a self -defense against the army against the Congo army and a hostile militia for Ki Galli.

Conflicts that have been exploring Eastern DRCs for decades are rooted in the struggle for Rwanda’s leaks to massacre in 1994 and the control of vast mineral resources.

The UN Human Rights Council began a committee in February to investigate the cruelty of the cruelty, including the murder of rape and the “summary execution” of both sides.
