Challenge Analysis

  • The player receives five passes from the dish from five different points: corner, wing, top of the key, opposite wing, and opposite corner.
  • Passes are made quickly at tempo 2 to simulate a fast 3PT shooting competition.
  • The goal is to make a 25/25 shot.

3 shots at 5 locations

In this drill, players take three shots from five different points. Players will take shots from the corner, wing, top of the key, opposite wing and opposite corner.

  • Players must shoot three different shots at each point before moving on to the next level.
  • In the first shot, players receive a pass and take a shot.
  • On the second shot, the players dribble once and pull up to the left.
  • For the final shot, players dribble once and pull to the right.

The goal of this drill is to get a lot of repetitions done intentionally and at game speed!

Skylar shares another great exercise. flash to space, This helps players improve ball movement before taking the shot.

  • Flash moves are a great way for players to create open space.
  • If a player notices his defender playing on the help side, watching the ball, or not paying attention, he has the opportunity to run to a spot and get an open look.
  • Players start from the corner and flash to the wing to receive a pass from the dish machine before taking a shot.
  • Players can also practice shot fakes and/or jabs to simulate the movement of a defender as he closes.

Heavy Stepping is one of Skylar’s favorite hesitation moves in the game!

In this drill, players receive a pass from Dish, dribble with their left foot extended, and turn their hips to attack downhill. Players then take a variety of shots, such as downhill finishes and pull-ups.
