Dinamo Kyiv manager Oleksandr Shovkovsky attended tonight’s pre-match press conference on the eve of his side’s Europa League clash with Roma.
Speaking to the media, Shovkovskyi spoke about Thursday night’s challenge.
“Our team faces many challenges, both financially and logistically, when it comes to recruiting overseas players. And that also affects how the team plays.”
“We are playing in the Europa League and the teams are very strong and prepared. It is very important for us to participate in European Cups to develop our players and gain experience. “We want to reach Serie A level, fifth in Europe in terms of quality.”
“This step is important for us. We can play against the best teams in Europe who are well prepared. We want to do our best to reach this level. I hope this match will give us an opportunity to raise the level of Ukrainian football.”
“Roma changed coaches and I studied Juric’s team. “They concede few goals, keep the ball a lot and play very attacking football.”
“Watching the game against Inter, I saw both teams playing at the same level and the game was very well balanced. It only took one episode to decide, and Rome had plenty of opportunities. Dovbyk also adds a lot of dynamism and physicality to the team.”
“Tomorrow will be very difficult. I think Rome is one of the best in Europe. “We will try to take advantage of our opportunities and try to defend well.”
