The New York Giants returned to practice Wednesday afternoon in preparation for their Week 14 game against the New Orleans Saints at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Before taking the field, coach Brian Daboll took the podium and spoke with reporters.
Among the revelations Daboll made was that quarterback Tommy DeVito is still dealing with a forearm injury, meaning Drew Lock will start on Sunday. The coach did not commit to DeVito serving as a backup.
The Giants also designated linebacker Dyontae Johnson to return from injured reserve (IR). His 21-day window officially opened Wednesday when he returned to practice.
Daboll also shared ominous news about a number of other players, including offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, saying they all have a chance to play against the Saints but should be considered a “week-to-week” that effectively covers the rest of the season.
“I’d say weekly,” Daboll said of injured players. “I think they all have a chance, but I think it’s too early to tell how optimistic I am.”
If Eluemunor and right tackle Evan Neal are unable to play on Sunday, Chris Hubbard and Joshua Ezeudu will get the starts.
